Charlevoix County features outstanding business resources and opportunities incorporating the area's fine natural assets. Our County continues to experience unprecedented population growth accompanied by an increased demand for related services. Each of the County's three cities and Beaver Island have their own chambers of commerce and we invite you to visit them to learn more about the benefits of doing business in our region.

Business development resources and referrals are also available by contacting the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance (NLEA). The NLEA serves as a resource center for local companies by providing information or referrals on business-related matters. The Economic Alliance also provides long-term buiness assistance services to companies that are starting up, expanding or relocating here. In addition, local communities receive assistance from the Economic Alliance in order to prepare them for high quality development or redevelopment.

Northwest Michigan Works! Business Liaisons provide a single point of contact for businesses in ten counties of Northwest Michigan. They assist businesses with human resources needs, employee training, and employee recruitment. Business Liaisons write On-the-Job Training Contracts through the federally funded Workforce Investment Act, reimbursing businesses 50% of a new employee's wage for up to six months.
