Economic Development Advisory Committee
The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) acts as an advisory board to Northwest Michigan Council of Governments for issues relating to regional economic development in Northwest Lower Michigan.
EDAC duties include:
The committee is comprised of representatives from the public and private sector of all ten Northwest Michigan counties. Economic development, planning, and support staff from NWMCOG are responsible for staff support and technical assistance to the Committee.

EDAC duties include:
- Providing an economic development-oriented forum for educational and networking opportunities;
- Providing direction towards the creation of the annual Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS);
- Creating a coordinated plan for working with local and regional employers;
- Identifying current economic base industries and emerging sectors;
- Aligning local and regional organizations, resources, and tools to support current and emerging sectors;
- Developing clear measures to track economic development progress and efficiency;
- Evaluating and reporting on the progress of the local and regional economic development programs;
- Other activities as determined by the EDAC, with approval from the NWMCOG Board.
