Why No Worker Left Behind?
No Worker Left Behind was launched by Governor Jennifer Granholm on August 1, 2007. Its purpose is to transform Michigan's workforce and retrain 100,000 Michigan residents.
The goal of the No Worker Left Behind program is to educate Michigan's workforce in preparation for jobs that will be in high demand in coming years.
Why was No Worker Left Behind created?:

- These workers do not have the skills to fill new jobs in emerging sectors.
- By 2010, 70% of the fastest growing jobs will require post-secondary degrees & certifications.
- By 2012, Michigan will have a shortage of 334,000 skilled workers.
